Joe
Galliani first began his love affair with the great outdoors
as a city-bound Cub Scout in Brooklyn, New York. Camping
in the mountains of the Adirondacks and in the Pine Barren
Forests of Southern New Jersey, he discovered the lure
of unspoiled wilderness, and the value of protected and
preserved public lands.
Today, at 44, Joe cherishes the sanctuary that the National
Parks provide more than ever. Each spring and fall he
and his wife of 20 years, Debra Bushweit Galliani, escape
the stress of corporate America and explore different
National Parks.
One of Americas most versatile and in-demand creative
talents, Joes schedule has been filled by clients
like Mattel, Nike, MCA/Universal, Sony, Honda, Washington
Mutual, 20th Century Fox, Dow, 6-Flags, GTE, and Kenwood
Stereo. They've called on him to develop, write, and creative
direct their most challenging and prominent presentations
and projects. Everything from Barbies 35th Anniversary
Pink Jubilee Spectacular at Disneyworld in Orlando, to
the award winning science show Chem-TV which
toured high schools across North America for three years.
As a toy inventor, Joe was the co-developer of the Nickelodeon
"Tangle" toy line, and the creator of Mattels
best selling Street Sharks toy line. He has
seen the characters and world he created turned into a
hit animated TV series and over 50 other licensed products.
Driven by the belief that their good fortune brings with
it a responsibility to give something back, Joe and Debra
have a long history of volunteerism for a variety of charities
and social causes. As a a member of the Board of Directors
for the Children Affected by Aids Foundation, Joe has
served in a wide variety of roles for the fundraising
organization. From 1994 - 1997 Joe served as the creative
director for the annual Dream Halloween Extravaganza,
the writer of the tribute book, and the magical voice
of the Great Pumpkin.
Empowered by the success of his Street Sharks, and fueled
by his love and great concern for our National Parks,
Joe has used his royalties to co-fund The Parks Company
with his best friend, top art director, Mike Baggetta.
Sharks for the Parks is what we dubbed it at our
house, says Joe. What better way to thank
all the kids that made it possible? With the Parks Company
were not only raising money for the National Parks,
were also going to raise interest levels and kids
knowledge and experience with the parks. Our greatest
natural scenic wonders should hold the same fascination
and appeal as the fantasy worlds and superheroes kids
now worship. The more we can teach kids about the parks
and give them firsthand experiences, the more theyll
grow to love and appreciate them. Our job is to make sure
we take care of the parks, improve them under our watch,
and pass them on in even better shape than we got them.
